AN ORDINANCE RENAMING THE MIAGAO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL-MIRANDA EXTENSION TO SUPERINTENDENT ARSENIO M. NAPUD MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL

Be it enacted by the Sangguniang Bayan in session assembled, that:

 

Section 1. TITLE.This ordinance shall be known as “An Ordinance Renaming the Miagao National High School-Miranda Extension to Superintendent Arsenio M. Napud Memorial High School”.

 

Section 2. PURPOSE OF THE ENACTMENT. This ordinance is enacted in appreciation of the generosity of the Napud Family and in recognition of their contribution to the education sector, especially of their patriarch, former Superintendent Arsenio M. Napud, of then Department of Education, Culture and Sports, now the Department of Education.

 

Section 3. LEGAL BASES.

 

1.Section 13, Book I, Title I, Chapter II of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, empowers the Sangguniang Bayan to change the name of municipal public secondary schools within its territorial jurisidiction upon recommendation of the Local School Board.

 

2.Resolution No. 04, series of 2009 of the Extended Municipal School Board of Miagao recommending the renaming of the Miagao National High School-Miranda Extension to Superintendent Arsenio M. Napud Memorial High School.

Section 4. DECLARATION OF POLICY.It is hereby declared that Miagao National High School-Miranda Extension be renamed as Superintendent Arsenio M. Napud Memorial High School in the Municipality of Miagao, Province of Iloilo.

 

Section 5.EFFECTIVITY. This Code shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its posting in at least three conspicuous places within the municipality.
