Dr. Rhea Palacios is spearheading the Municipal Health Office’s Municipal Nutrition Council in satisfying the needs of the evaluators of the regional MELLPI Pro on June 21, 2024.

The MELLPI Pro serves as the crucial monitoring and evaluation mechanism for the effective implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition at the local level.
According to Dr. Palacios the evaluation will not only be a test of their current efforts but also a catalyst for future improvements.
Earlier on the preparation, Dr. Palacios encouraged her team to view this as an invaluable learning experience, one that will bolster their resolve and equip them with the insights needed to propel their nutrition initiatives to even greater heights.
With her at the helm, the council stands poised and ready, prepared to demonstrate their steadfast commitment to the nutritional well-being of the community, and confident that their hard work and dedication will be recognized and rewarded.
GOOD LUCK, TEAM RHU!

The local government here faces another challenge in pursuing the Seal of Good Local Governance Awards for 2023, highlighting diverse areas of governance.

The team of evaluators, led by Ms. Ruth Leda Alagban, LGOO VII from DILG Negros Occidental, scrutinized the town’s adherence to several critical metrics:
– Financial Administration and Sustainability
– Disaster Preparedness
– Social Protection and Sensitivity
– Health Compliance and Responsiveness
– Sustainable Education
– Business Friendliness and Competitiveness
– Safety, Peace, and Order
– Environmental Management
– Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture, and the Arts
– Youth Development
Representing Mayor Richard Garin, SB Cezar Florece emphasized that the LGU wholeheartedly embraces all forms of evaluation. He noted that such assessments are instrumental in refining the local government’s ability to implement its plans and programs in alignment with DILG guidelines.
