LSB APPROVES BUDGET FOR SCHOOLS
The Local School Board here chaired by Mayor Richard Garin approved the Supplemental Budget to finance some school activities during their meeting on November 9, 2023.
The Board approved the amount of P620,000.00 for the procurement of drum and lyre and other sports equipment.
They also acknowledged the attendance of the new members: District Supervisors Rosa Heredia of the District of Miagao West and
Emmanuel Paguntalan of the District of Miagao East and PTA Federated President Melita Mabanes.
SK OFFICIALS ATTEND MANDATORY TRAINING
The second batch of newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan officials during their mandatory training at the ISAT U Hostel.
The topics of the training include
Decentralization and Local Governance, Minutes and Resolutions, Planning and Budgeting and Code and Ethical Standard.

They are from the municipalities of Kalibo, Ibajay, Makato, and Tangalan in Aklan Province and San Enrique and Dueñas in Iloilo.
It may be noted that Miagao is the pilot municipality in the implementation of the Healthy Hearts Program.
According to MHO Dr. Rhea Palacios, the HHP was designed to improve cardiovascular health and reduce mortality caused by NCDs such as heart disease and chronic respiratory diseases. It includes capacitating the barangay health workers as well as educating the community to have a healthier lifestyle.
In Miagao, the Program focuses on blood pressure control, shifting to the national protocol and reaching the unreachable.
