The municipal employees here gathered for a one-day workshop on the Gender and Development (GAD) 2025 initiative.
This collaborative effort aimed to enhance awareness and strategies related to gender equality in local governance.
Participants engaged in discussions, activities, and shared insights, all focused on promoting inclusive policies that support diverse community needs.
‘ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUAL IN CRISIS SITUATION’
The local government has consistently provided Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) to Miagaowanons.
AICS is one of the social welfare services offered by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, with the strong backing of Mayor Richard Garin.
The program offers a range of support, including medical assistance, burial, transportation, education, food, and financial help for other essential needs of individuals and families.

‘STATE OF CALAMITY SECONDARY TO DENGUE’
After thorough deliberation, the members of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) have recommended that the Sangguniang Bayan declare the Municipality under a State of Calamity due to the escalating number of dengue cases.
As of this writing, the Municipal Health Office has recorded a total of 134 cases, placing the municipality in the top 10 in the Province of Iloilo for the most cases.
With this declaration, the Municipality will gain access to the Quick Response Fund from the MDRRMC, enabling the effective implementation of its Response Plan to combat the disease.
We urge everyone to play their part in fighting this deadly dengue disease.
Let us implement the 5S Kontra Dengue now: Search and destroy mosquito breeding sites, Secure your home with screens, Seek early consultation if symptoms arise, Support community efforts and Sustain hydration.
Together, we can make a difference.
Some 14 Miagaowanons affected by Typhoon Paeng were listed as beneficiaries of six heads of chicken from the Department of Agriculture.
This support aims to help families rebuild and recover after the devastating impact of the typhoon.
The initiative underscores the importance of community resilience and government assistance in times of crisis.
