To further instill relevant life skills, the Local Government Unit of Miagao, under the administration of Hon. Engr. Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr., Municipal Mayor, has established guidelines for providing Basic Life Support training for the Miagao Tour Guides’ Organization, Chief Tanods, and Barangay Tourism Council Focal Persons. Life support training is a vital life skill that equips both guides and tourists with the knowledge to deal with medical emergencies. Prompt and appropriate first aid can save a life, and empowering our children with this basic skill could mean more lives can be saved in times of emergency or disaster. Under this training, LGU Miagao includes programs developed by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, headed by Engr. Franco Carlo M. Monteclaro, and the Bureau of Fire Protection, along with the Office of the Municipal Tourism Officer, headed by Mrs. Mary Diane N. Flordeliza, MGDH I, Tourism Officer. The training carries evidence-based guidelines for emergency cardiovascular care and psychomotor training to support age-appropriate instruction.

Approximately 300 Miagaowanons benefited from the Bantay Kalusugan services held in Barangay Igbugo, marking the first event outside its usual venue at the Regional Evacuation Center on August 17, 2024.

Members of the Responsableng Gobyerno, led by Congresswoman Doc Nanay Janette Garin, worked diligently to ensure the smooth operation of the Bantay Kalusugan.
This health caravan provided free consultations, laboratory check-ups, and medicines to those who participated in the program.

Ten young Miagaowanons were chosen as beneficiaries of this year’s Special Program for the Employment of Students by the Department of Labor and Employment.

The program aims to provide extra income to students to help cover their school expenses.
They will be temporarily employed for 22 days in the local government and will receive compensation of P531.82 per day from the LGU Miagao and the DOLE.
SPES is a special program facilitated by the PESO Miagao, headed by Mr. John Nocal.
