Mayor Richard Garin pledges personal support to the members of the eight tribes that will perform in the Tribes’ Dance Drama Competition.

This, according to him, an expression of his appreciation and support to the members who shared their time and effort to make Salakayan Festival successful.

Each of the tribe performers, instrumentalists, and props men received cash as transportation allowance, t-shirt, and snacks which was given to them during his visit on January 31 and February 1, 2024.

“Kun nami ang inyo performance, dugangan ko pa gid ra,” he said.

The Tribes’ Competition will be held on February 10th in four judging areas in town.

Mayor Richard Garin expressed his support to the competing tribes of the Salakayan Festival through his presence during their practice.

On January 31, 2024, Mayor Garin visited Tribus Bacolodnon, Bantalaan, Tabun-ak and Baklayanon to give his personal and moral support to the performers.

In his message, Mayor Garin highlighted the true reason for the celebration that is “to commemorate, say thank you, and serve as a challenge.”

“Indi lang dya basta nag saot ka lang, kundi para maintindihan ka mga kasimanwa ta ang mga ginpanghimo kang aton mga kalolohan kag machallenge man kita nga obrahon ang aton responsibilidad sa sociodad, nga kun estudyante ikaw responsibilidad mo ang magtuon ti mayad para sa pira ka adlaw mangin proud man ang imo banwa sa imo kadarag-an,” he said.

Mayor Garin also thanked them for their participation, the key to the successful celebration of the festival.

Miagao will celebrate its 308th Foundation Anniversary and Salakayan Festival 2024 on February 5-11, 2024.

According to MENRO OIC Forester Isidro Mosura, the volume of garbage daily was reduced to one truck load only, from the usual four truck loads prior to the implementation of Executive Order 2023-099.
