The recipients, primarily students from the Iloilo Science and Technology University Miagao Campus, each received P7,000 from CHED and UniFAST Board Chairman J. Prospero “Popoy” E. De Vera III, alongside Congresswoman Garin and Mayor Richard Garin.

August 30, 2024 may be a lucky day for 2,016 Miagaowanons who received support from the DOLE Tupad and the DSWD’s Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) during a distribution event at the Regional Evacuation Center.
A total of 537 AKAP beneficiaries received P3,000 each, while the DOLE Tupad recipients were awarded P4,800 as compensation for their 10 days of work.
The distribution event was graced by Congresswoman Janette L. Garin, whose office played a crucial role in facilitating these essential programs for the Miagaowanons.
