The municipal government, under the leadership of Mayor Richard Garin responded immediately to the needs of the families who were affected by the recent encounter between the Philippine Army and the New People’s Army.
On March 5, 2024, the personnel from the MSWDO, MHO, MDRRMO and the Office of the Mayor personally delivered food packs and conducted medical assessment and consultations to some 68 families.
These families from Barangays Igsoligue, Igpandan, Igcabitoon and Bacolod were directly affected by the encounter and sought refuge in the Day Care Centers of the aforementioned barangays.

Ongoing operation of the hammer mill that pulverizes glass bottles. Subsequently, these pulverized glasses are used in landscaping and bonsai plates, among others.
This hammer mill is just part of the LGU effort on solid waste management. On top of this, the MENR Office is also consistent in the operation of the pyrolysis machine that converts non-biodegradable waste into ash.
