– We are thrilled to announce that our organization has been honored as a National Best PESO Nominee and Finalist in the prestigious Search for the Best PESO in the Philippines. This accolade was celebrated during the National PESO Congress and Awarding Ceremony, which took place at the Zamboanga City Convention Center on October 16, 2024. This recognition underscores our commitment to excellence in public service employment.
– Additionally, we proudly acknowledge our achievement as the Best LGU Implementing RRP-CCAM-DR through Project Lawa at Binhi, along with receiving the Project Sustainability Award. This recognition occurred during an event held at Natures Village Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, on October 16-17, 2024. Our projects aim to enhance resilience and sustainability in our community, and this award is a testament to our effective implementation strategies.
Furthermore, as a result of these outstanding accomplishments, PESO Miagao will be rewarded with a cash incentive of P5 million pesos. This funding will further empower our initiatives and enhance our services to the community.

The Department of Education, in collaboration with the Department of Health, has initiated the revitalization of the School-Based Immunization (SBI) program, known as “Bakuna Eskwela,” aimed at safeguarding students from serious vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs).

In Miagao, personnel from the Rural Health Unit (RHU) have been visiting elementary and high schools to promote the SBI Program, which emphasizes vaccinations for measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, and human papillomavirus (HPV) beginning on October 15, 2024.
The launch ceremony took place at Arsenio Napud Memorial High School.

TAN PEDRO MONTECLARO CELEBRATION

The Miagaowanons gathered to commemorate the birth of Tan Pedro Monteclaro, a revered local hero, during a wreath-laying ceremony at his monument in Camp Monteclaro and at the JRBB Hall on October 15, 2024.
The event featured a keynote address by Mr. Jose Nereo Lujan, whose remarks resonated deeply with the attendees.
Mayor Richard Garin, in his speech, emphasized the importance of perseverance in the pursuit of freedom, stating, “Fighting for freedom is fighting for progress and development.”
He further reflected on the legacy of Tan Pedro, noting, “Bisan wara ron si Tan Pedro kag ang ana mga suldadus, ang anda handum as they fought for freedom for progress and development, natabu ron.”
