Mayor Richard Garin warmly welcomed the participants of the Southern Iloilo Coastal Resource Management Council in Miagao on April 29, 2024.
They were here for their regular meeting and election of a new set of officers. Subsequently, Mayor Garin was elected president.
HEALTH CARAVAN ONGOING
Miagaowanons can still avail of free medical and laboratory consultations and medicines at the ongoing Bantay Kalusugan Health Caravan led by Congresswoman Doc Nanay Janette Garin at the Regional Evacuation Center from April 29 to May 1.

‘UNVEILING OF THE UPDATED MIAGAO CHURCH MARKER’
The members of the different religious groups, the local government unit of Miagao, and the academe showed their cooperation as members of the church and humanity during the unveiling of the updated marker of the world heritage Miagao Church.
The remarkable event was attended by UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines Secretary-General Dr. Ivan Anthony Henares, Miagao Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Cirilo Camus, and Mayor Richard Garin.
In his message, Mayor Garin said that the marker is a challenge to all Miagaowanons to preserve the Church and its heritage.
“This Church and heritage will be our link to education, culture, aesthetic aspirations, and economic legacies. This is a symbol of us Miagaowanons,” he said.
Mayor Richard Garin graced the team-building activity of the First District Federated PTA at the Regional Evacuation Center on April 27, 2024.
ADDITIONAL CHAIRS FOR MIAGAOWANON STUDENTS
Mayor Richard Garin turned over a total of 950 monobloc chairs to eight secondary schools and two district offices. The chairs were received by the principals and representatives of the schools.
