MAYOR RSG RELEASES 1.5M IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO VARIOUS ASSOCIATIONS

On October 21, 2024, Mayor Richard Garin led the distribution of checks totaling 1.5 million to various organized associations in Miagao as financial assistance under the KADIWA program of the Department of Agriculture.
These associations are the NACTI Vegetable Noodles and Chips Processors Association, Miagao Rural Improvement Club, Miagao Bulb Onion Producers Association, Ongyod Coffee Association, Miagao Organic Black Rice Producers Association, and Sitio Guisian Farmers Association.
KADIWA is an initiative of the Department of Agriculture that is designed to ensure the availability and affordability of food in areas with high demand and in communities with low-income families. Farmers’ cooperatives and associations, members of the private sector, and other agricultural stakeholders were tapped to implement a direct and effective food supply distribution system throughout the country.

MAYOR RSG ORDERS SPEEDY COMPLETION OF ROAD REHABILITATION ALONG NONATO STREET

Mayor Richard Garin has ordered the speedy completion of the construction and rehabilitation works along Nonato Street, one of the busiest streets in town.
During an inspection conducted on October 21, 2024, Mayor Richard Garin instructed the laborers on the tasks to be accomplished and expressed his high hopes that the work would be completed in the shortest time possible.
At the moment, half of the street is closed to traffic to allow for canalization in the area and the rehabilitation of the parking space in front of the municipal annex building.

ON DOLE TUPAD: TINGUHAAN TA NGA MATATAPAN ANG TANAN – MAYOR RSG

This was the strong promise made by Mayor Richard Garin as he announced the distribution of assistance codes to approximately 450 DOLE Tupad beneficiaries at the Regional Evacuation Center on October 19, 2024. The initiative is designed to provide vital support to community members seeking employment opportunities, particularly those affected by recent economic challenges.
“Indi tanan matatapan ta guid, but next time we will see to it nga ang iban nva balay nga wara pa makabit kang aton programa will also be the priority. Gusto ta guid nga matatapan ang kada balay, 16,000 households, i try ta nga malab-ot ta ria,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring that all households in need are eventually reached by the program.
This initiative underscores the administration’s dedication to uplift the community and promote widespread economic stability through accessible employment opportunities.

DSWD Central Office to Benchmark Miagao’s Lawa at Binhi Program

In view of its latest recognition as the Best LGU Implementing RRO CCAM-DR through Project Lawa at Binhi and the Project Sustainability Award, the Municipality of Miagao will host some 26 beneficiaries of the program from various municipalities in Miagao, particularly in Barangay Olango, on November 6, 2024.
This was revealed by Ms. Jane Hervilla, Project Development Officer II, during her courtesy visit to Mayor Richard Garin on October 21, 2024.
Ms. Hervilla and her team also presented the aforementioned awards to Mayor Garin, as she lauded the LGU for its effective implementation strategies of the program.

PAG-ASA YOUTH ASSOCIATION OF THE PHILIPPINES, MIAGAO CHAPTER

These men and women convened to participate in providing significant and impactful development for the Miagaowanon youth.
On October 29, 2024, the members of the Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Miagao Chapter convened for the first time to be oriented about their duties and responsibilities in the association, particularly regarding their roles in the development of out-of-school youth in their barangays.
This association is a duly constituted barangay-based organization for out-of-school youth between the ages of 15 and 24 who are clients of the DSWD.
In his message, Mayor Richard Garin lauded them for their volunteerism, particularly in assisting their respective Sangguniang Kabataan in various programs for the youth.
