This funding announcement was disclosed by Mayor Richard Garin during an interview on October 19, 2024 over the radio program Responsabelng Gobyerno For Miagao (RGFM).
Mayor Garin emphasized that these significant projects were realized due to the strong relationship among local officials and their unwavering commitment to fostering progress in Miagao.
He noted that the funding not only demonstrates confidence in the town’s development plans but also aims to enhance health services through the completion of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) and making a Primary Health Care Facility for Miagaowanons.
According to Mayor Garin, this is part of their aim of ensuring that all Miagaowanons, most especially those financially challenged, to have access to essential healthcare resources, ultimately contributing to the overall well-being and prosperity of Miagao.

Barangays Dawog and Diday are two of the luckiest barangays recently named beneficiaries of the popular Local Adaptation to Water Access (LAWA) and Breaking Insufficiency through Nutritious Harvest for the Impoverished (BINHI) programs of the DSWD.
Each barangay hired 47 residents to build one Small Farm Reservoir and one Communal Garden.
On October 22, 2024, the team from the DSWD, headed by Ms. Jane Hervilla, conducted the Sustainability Planning (Day 19 of the 20-day Cash for Training and Work Activity). The event was also attended by former DSWD Regional Director Atty. Carmelo Nochete, who has been vital in bringing the program to Miagao.
The LAWA and BINHI programs aim to provide cash assistance to farmers and fisherfolk, enhancing water sufficiency and strengthening food security within the community.

Mayor Richard Garin is taking the lead in ensuring the success of yet another big event in town—the annual Paskwa sa Banwa.
On October 21, 2024, Mayor Garin presided over a meeting with all committee chairpersons involved in organizing the Paskwa sa Banwa 2024, focusing on finalizing the proposed activities for the one-week celebration.
The activities lined up for this festive occasion include the Miagao iFilm Awards, the Lantern Parade, a Drum and Lyre Competition, the Miss Teen Miagao pageant, and the Little Miss Miagao contest. Additionally, there will be the Halad sa Kabataan, NGA Services Day, Liga Night, and a collaborative event titled Unite, among others.
