PA HEADQUARTERS GET MULTI-MILLION FACE LIFT

Camp Monteclaro could be the luckiest to receive a multi-million fund for the rehabilitation of its structures from Congresswoman Doc Nanay Janette L. Garin.
On May 26, 2024, no less than Congresswoman Garin headed the groundbreaking ceremony of the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Siguridad (TIKAS) Project at its site in Barangay Igtuba.
In his message, Mayor Richard Garin thanked Congresswoman Garin for her commitment and support in the peace and order efforts of the municipality.
He also highlighted the dedication to service of each and every soldier, stating that they “deserve to feel comfortable and safe inside the camp.”
“You cannot appreciate the government’s program without peace and order. Big or small, we are truly grateful. Now you deserve a much more comfortable and safe camp,” Mayor Garin said.
The rehabilitation works inside the camp include the barracks, mess hall, admin building, and roads, among others.
It is being funded by the congressional fund of Congresswoman Garin and will be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

In observance of the weeklong celebration dedicated to Farmers and Fisherfolks Week, the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist orchestrated Livestock Day as a core component of the event series.
Taking place on May 23, 2024, this occasion centered on various aspects related to livestock. Key activities included the vaccination of dogs and cats, a seminar on the Control and Prevention of African Swine Fever, and a seminar focused on ruminants.
These activities were complemented by the daily agro and trade fair, which proudly showcased the locally produced goods of the town’s farmers and fisherfolks.

Under the chairmanship of SB Mazert Torrecampo, the Committee on Public Works, Land Use, and Zoning successfully conducted the third round of public hearing on the proposed Right of Way Ordinance at the JRBB Hall on May 22, 2024.
During the hearing, attendees were apprised of the context, objectives, and anticipated outcomes should the ordinance be approved and implemented.
According to SB Secretary Engr. Antonio Quilantang, all the suggestions and comments were meticulously documented and will be considered in the final draft of the aforesaid ordinance.
For the part of Mayor Richard Garin, he remarked that the ordinance “aims to protect properties of both the government and individuals.”
“May mga government projects nga napatindug sa lote nga indi ana ka gobyerno just as we do not want to build projects on land that doesn’t belong to the government kag tuyo naton nga macompensate ti eksakto ang mga landowners whose properties ang possible ma utilize for government projects,” he emphasized.
The proposed Right of Way Ordinance serves as the local counterpart to Republic Act No. 10752, or the Right of Way Act of the Philippines.

A total of 463 residents of Miagao were attended to by the volunteer medical team of Bantay Kalusugan (BK) Batch 3 from May 20-22, 2024, at the Regional Evacuation Center.
Bantay Kalusugan, the flagship initiative spearheaded by Congresswoman Dr. Janette L. Garin, offers complimentary medical consultations and various healthcare services to the constituents of the first congressional district.
In Miagao, the BK program has, to date, served a cumulative total of 1,228 individuals.

To pay tribute to our local farmers and fisherfolk, the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, in collaboration with the Miagao Federation of Farmers and Fisherfolk Association, is hosting the Farmers and Fisherfolk Week Celebration from May 21-25, 2024.
In relation with the celebration, a series of activities have been organized to offer members a respite from their year-round toil in the fields and seas, which ensures the sustenance of the Miagaowanons.
The scheduled activities encompass lectures, an agro-trade fair, vaccinations, a clean-up drive, tree planting, parlor games, among others.
This year’s event is themed “Ang Mabakod nga Pagbangon Sang Mangunguma sa Tion sang Kalamidad kag Pagbag-o sang Klima.”
