This was one of the highlights of the speech of Mayor Richard Garin before thousands of Miagaowanons who attended the Opening Program of the Salakayan Festival on February 6, 2023.
“We celebrate Salakayan Festival to commemorate, give thanks and to make this a challenge to all of us on how we live and value the sacrifices of our forefathers,” he said.
Salakayan Festival is a weeklong celebration, on February 6 to 12, 2023, is a tribute to the town’s forefathers who successfully defended the land from the attacks of the Muslim pirates.

Farmers will have their share of exposure in the weeklong Agro-Trade Fair of the Salakayan Festival.
The Agro-Trade Fair, organized by the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, gives opportunity to the barangays to exhibit their agricultural and industrial products.

ON TRAFFIC EXPERIMENT MAYOR RSG HEARS DRIVERS SENTIMENTS

Mayor Richard Garin hears the observation and sentiments of the drivers relative to the implementation of the traffic experimental scheme in town.
It may be noted that, the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) granted the request of Mayor Garin to conduct traffic experiment for the period January 24-March 31, 2023.
In a meeting with the presidents of all tricycle owners and drivers association earlier today, Mayor Garin listened and noted all their sentiments and concerns.
According to him, it will all be considered in the reports and recommendations that will be submitted back to the SB.
During the experimental period, the following are being implemented:
– suspension of the Odd-Even Scheme;
– suspension of the sub-routes in Zone A; and
– observation of “Open for Free Zone” allowing tricycle for hire to ply anywhere within the municipality from 8PM to 4AM.

LGU RELEASES ASSISTANCE TO TRIBES, PROVIDES ADDITIONAL TRANSPO ALLOWANCE

“We have already released your assistance and we have allocated an additional transportation allowance for all of you for February 6 and 11.”
This was part of the good news that Mayor Richard Garin personally shared to the members of the contesting tribes during his visit to them.
Mayor Garin was with tribus Tabun-ak and Kirayanon on February 3, 2023 to express his support. He also thanked everyone for their participation which “elevated the sense of pride of the Miagaowanons”.

WE ARE DOING IT RIGHT!

Cutting in the number of job hires addresses COA AOM on “extravagant and unnecessary” hiring of job order personnel.
In his administration, Mayor Garin reduced the number of job order personnel from the original 245 to 143 as of this writing.
On top of this Mayor Garin said that his decision is also in anticipation to the decrease in the 2023 Budget.

‘BACAUAN- NACLUB ROAD PRE-CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE’

The stakeholders of the Bacauan to Naclub provincial road gathered for a pre-construction conference at Naclub Barangay Hall on February 3, 2023.
This was in response to the request of Mayor Richard Garin to involve everyone in the pre-construction conference of the abovementioned project.
“I requested for this para maintiendihan naton tanan ang proyekto kag mabantayan ta ang construction. Indi kita gusto nga while gina obra raku pa ang reklamo,” Mayor Garin said.
Bacauan- Naclub Road is a locally funded project under the Provincial Road Development Program (PRDP).
