BARANGAY MAT-Y ENJOYS BENEFITS FROM RESPONSABLENG GOBYERNO

On October 27, 2024, Barangay Mat-y was graced with generous support from the Responsableng Gobyerno, led by Mayor Richard Garin.
The barangay received an array of benefits: food packs, funding of P70,000 for local projects, a share of P142,967.75 from real property taxes, and a Day Care Subsidy amounting to P9,600.
This influx of resources promises to enhance the barangay’s welfare and development significantly.

TYPHOON AFFECTED RESIDENTS RECEIVE FOOD PACKS

A total of 174 residents impacted by the devastating effects of Typhoon Kristine were provided food packs by the Department of Social Welfare and Development during a distribution event on October 27, 2024.
These beneficiaries were carefully identified based on their reported losses resulting from the typhoon and represent various barangays: Narat-an (14), San Rafael (1), Oyungan (14), Buenavista Sur (9), Igbugo (1), Fundacion (14), and Palaca (29), Guibongan-27
Kirayan sur (17), Naulid (14), Dingle (12) and Ubos Ilaya (3).
The purpose of these food packs is to alleviate the hardships endured by families affected by the natural disaster, offering essential relief in this challenging time.
 

MIAGAOWANONS RECEIVE P9,000 AS LAWA AND BINHI BENEFICIARIES

A total of 189 Miagaowanons have been awarded P9,000 each as compensation for their 20 days of dedicated work as beneficiaries of the Lawa and Binhi programs.
These individuals, hailing from the Barangays of Dawog, Diday, Olango, and Cabaluanan, were commissioned by the Department of Social Welfare and Development to construct small dam reservoirs and cultivate high-value crops.
The Lawa and Binhi Program is designed to provide essential financial assistance to farmers and fisherfolk, promoting water sufficiency and enhancing food security within the community. Through this initiative, the government aims to foster sustainable agricultural practices and ensure a resilient food supply for all.

The Municipality of Miagao played host to the Southern Iloilo Coastal Resource Management Council Incorporated (SICRMCI) workshop focused on the harmonization of fisheries ordinances within the 1st district of Iloilo on October 25, 2024.

Attended by representatives from various offices—including the Municipal Agriculturist, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, and the Provincial Agriculturist—this event aimed to unify and enhance existing fisheries regulations throughout the district.
