Miagao iFilm is having their series of workshops from Oct. 7- 22, 2023 in preparation to its Miagao Independent Film Festival 2023 on December this year. The workshops were held at Miagao Central Elementary School with widely acclaimed and celebrated Filmmakers and Film enthusiasts as their Keynote and resource Speakers. To name a few, they have Prof. Kevin Piamonte, Nathan Sotto, EJ Salcedo, Jose Ruel Garcia. These workshops are still in cooperation with the Guimbal Filmmakers and the Miagao Tourism Office. As it is his brainchild, Mayor Richard Garin, continuously stands firm in his dedication and support for Miagao Independent Film.

900 MIAGAOWANONS IN FOR DOLE TUPAD PROGRAM
A total of 900 Miagaowanons were identified as recipients of the TUPAD Program of the Department of Labor and Employment under the facilitation of the Office of Congresswoman Janette L. Garin.
“We are privilege nga may mga programa kota nga amo ka dya. Bulig dya kang gobyerno in return, ginapangabay namon nga buligan man ninyo kamo para mabuligan kamo,” said Congresswoman Garin in her message during the orientation of the beneficiaries at the Regional Evacuation Center on October 10, 2023.
The program provides occupation to Miagaowanons for 10-days on October 10-19, 2023, They will receive a compensation of P450.00/day.
“Basta mapisan ikaw indi ka guid magutman,” Mayor Richard Garin said as he expressed his gratitude to the DOLE and Congresswoman Garin for their commitment to help the Miagaowanons.
