Some 31 Miagaowanon farmers who were affected by drought and plant diseases received their insurance incentives totaling to P80,810.00 from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) in a distribution held at the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist earlier today, March 6, 2024.
PCIC is an agency that provides insurance protection to farmers against losses arising from natural calamities, plant diseases and pest infestations of their palay and corn crops as well as other crops.

The kagawads, chairperson on the Committee on Women and Family Welfare were readied for their task and responsibilities through an orientation with Hon. Japhet Grace Moleta, Liga President Marlou Niones, and personnel from the MSWDO and PNP.

During the visit, they have agreed to enter into an agreement with the municipal government on the use of the PCG Building in Barangay Baybay Norte.

MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT WORKING FOR YOU

The municipal government, under the leadership of Mayor Richard Garin responded immediately to the needs of the families who were affected by the recent encounter between the Philippine Army and the New People’s Army.
On March 5, 2024, the personnel from the MSWDO, MHO, MDRRMO and the Office of the Mayor personally delivered food packs and conducted medical assessment and consultations to some 68 families.
These families from Barangays Igsoligue, Igpandan, Igcabitoon and Bacolod were directly affected by the encounter and sought refuge in the Day Care Centers of the aforementioned barangays.
