Miagao sets to Conduct Serbisyo Caravan in Barangay Pudpud

In the aim to bring the municipal government closer to the people, the Municipality of Miagao is set to conduct Serbisyo Caravan and Launching of the TV Aralan in Barangay Pudpud on November 15, 2021.

This initiative is part of the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government in partnership with the Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.

Among the services expected during the event are the following:

– Medical consultation

– Agriculture services that include dog castration, anti-rabies vaccination and cattle, carabao and goat vaccination and deworming

– fruit tree and forest seeds distribution

– Balik Probinsya Program screening and other Social Services under the MSWDO

– Advocy on RPT collection and registration of large cattles

– career/ employment coaching

– national building code

– AIP preparation

Miagao joins in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

The Municipality of Miagao joined in the fourth quarter nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill initiated by the Civil Defence of the Philippines today.

In the local scene, the drill was spearheaded by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council headed by OIC MDRRMO Mr. John Nocal who ensured that the drill was correctly and successfully performed by the employees.

The employees for their part willingfully performed the Duck, Cover and Hold which was a quick response to ensure their safety during such calamity.

The employees then convened infront of the Municipal Grounds and returned to their respective offices after the MDRRMO declared that the area was cleared.

LGU Grants P14.2 Million Hazard Pay to all Municipal Employees

The Local Government of Miagao granted and released for the second time the Hazard Pay of all municipal government employees.

In summary the LGU released the total amount of P14.2 million to all permanent, casual, and job hired personnel who have rendered service during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Mayor Macario Napulan, MD said that the grant is very much deserved by the employees as they have exposed themselves to the risk of COVID19 infections and other similar health dangers and hazards during their delivery of services amidst the pandemic.

Mayor Napulan Vies for Outstanding Municipal Mayor Award for the 3rd time

The Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc (ALSWDOPI) validated today the nomination as Outstanding Local Chief Executive of the Philippines (1st to 3rd Class Municipality) of Mayor Macario N. Napulan, MD.

In his welcome remarks, Mayor Napulan said that “serving our people is doing hardwork to each and everyone of us especially in this time of pandemic.”

Napulan, who has been conferred for two consecutive years in 2019 and 2020 as Outstanding Municipal Mayor and is now serving his last term as the town’s LCE, stressed that “I am not after the return, I am more than happy to serve the people.”

The panel of validators present include Mr. Lazaro Petinglay – Chairperson, Search for Gawad Parangal Visayas and Vice President for the Visayas, PSWDO, Antique Province, Dr. Neneth Q. Pador – Executive Vice President ALSWSOPI National, and Ms. Janette Alonday – Gawad Parangal Chairperson and ALSWDOPI President, Iloilo Province.

Gawad Parangal is an annual award conferred by ALSWDOPI to Outstanding Local Chief Executives.

The search is being conducted by the Committee of Gawad Parangal per island. They looked into the effective and efficient service delivery of social welfare and development programs and services giving emphases on local initiatives especially on how to address the pandemic.

“I hope that this will inspire other leaders that may come to serve the Miagaowanons to serve to the best possible way they can,” Mayor Napulan concluded.

Miagao gets 1.5M Livelihood Grant from DOLE

Three (3) barangays from the Municipality of Miagao receive the amount of P1.5million (P500,000.00 per barangay) worth of livelihood projects from the Department of Labor and Employment.

No less than DOLE Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III led the releasing of the cheques under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Programs (DILEEP) to Barangays Banbanan through Punong Barangay Enrico Mondana, Wayang through Punong Barangay Jose Nochete, and Banga through Punong Barangay Jonnel Muta in a simple ceremony at the Iloilo Convention Center on November 8, 2021. Also in attendance were First District Representative Cong. Janet L. Garin and Miagao Mayor Macario N. Napulan, MD, who were both very much appreciative of the assistance extended to these barangays.

The amount will be used in the implementation of Agricultural Farm Supply Store, Pre and Post Harvest Facility Services and purchase of Mechanical Flat-bed Dryer.

Miagao Launches COVID19 Pediatric Vaccination

MIAGAO, Iloilo – The Municipality of Miagao launched the COVID19 pediatric vaccination in a simple ceremony attended by some 100 vaccinee and their parents earlier today at the JRBB Hall.

Thereafter, the Municipal Health Office vaccination team headed by Municipal Health Officer Dr. Rhea Palacios begun giving children ages 12 to 17 vaccinations using the Pfizer pediatric vaccine to protect this group and prevent COVID19 from spreading further.

Dr. Palacios in her welcome remarks encouraged every minor in the community to get their vaccines whenever available as she assured that the Pfizer vaccines are safe for the younger age group. She emphasized that children has never been spared from the virus and vaccination is the key so Miagao can achieve herd immunity.

Mayor Macario Napulan on his part asked for the cooperation of all and avail of the vaccines that are now massively made available to every Miagaowanons. He noted that the MHO and Provincial Health Office have been working in tandem to vaccinate the majority and eventually achieve the much desired herd immunity.

The parents and the vaccinee alike responded positively to the initiative as they unendingly thanked the LGU and the MHO for the opportunity given to them as they emphasized that COVID19 pandemic impacted their social and educational development and to some has caused the lives of their loved ones.

Following the usual procedure of the vaccination, Dr. Palacios called on all interested minors to coordinate with their respective Baranagy Health Emergency Team (BHERTs) for pre-registration and schedule.
