Earlier today, Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr meets the men and women behind Miagao Salakayan Inc., the financial arm of the famous Salakayan Festival.
Headed by President Mrs. Vilma Degracia, MSI is an active group that generates and manages private funds to finance not just some activities of the Salakayan but also of Hablon Festival. They are also the prime movers during the annual Paskwa sa Miagao particularly the Halad sa Kabataan.
Mayor Garin was happy to have a short dialogue with the group as he hopes to establish a good working relationship with them. He also shares to them his plans and future projects for Miagao.

‘ELCAC barangays get additional support’

An additional ten barangays in the municipality of Miagao will be recipient of projects under the Local Government Support Fund- Support to Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
Earlier today, the DILG – Miagao led in the orientation to barangay officials of barangays Agdum, Oya-oy, Igsoligue, Tigmalapad, Tigmarabo, Cabalaunan, Ongyod, Onop, Mabayan and Tiglawa. They were guided as to the identification of barangay projects that will answer concerns being faced by the barangays.
For his part, Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin. Jr. acknowledged the roles of barangays in ending local communist armed conflicts as he thanked them for being in the forefront of maintaining the peace and order in their respective barangays. He also lauded the national government for bringing programs of this like to the people.
Mayor Garin also asked them to continue to support the DILG, PNP, Philippine Army and the MGU in all of their plans and programs.
In 2021, barangays Wayang, Banbanan , and San Jose also received projects totaling to P20 million under this program.

Some 219 Miagaowanons have availed of the Medical Assistance, today, August 19, 2022.
On behalf of the people of Miagao, Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr. expressed his gratitude to Congresswoman Janette L. Garin and the DSWD for bringing such benefits to the Miagaowanons.

UPDATE I Jollibee will be in town!

Jollibee on Wheels (JOW) will be in Miagao on time for the celebration of Hablon Festival and Annual Patronal Fiesta on September 19 to 30, 2022.
This after Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr gave his nod to put up the JOW to Ms. Lyn Mary Aboilo and Ms. Lyn Najilan in their courtesy visit earlier today.

IN PHOTOS I Are you ready for the face-to-face Hablon Festival?

To ensure the success of Hablon Festival, no less than Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr himself looked into the plans and budget proposals of all the Hablon Festival Committees.
It is Mayor Garin’s idea that Hablon Festival will be celebrated on time for the Annual Patronal Fiesta of the town primarily to compliment both events. The first celebration in his administration, Mayor Garin hopes to make this an even memorable celebration for the Miagaowanons.
The Festival will primarily showcase the town’s hand-woven textile – hablon in all of its activities as such Hablon Trade Fair Exhibit, Little Miss Hablon, Hablon Dance Presentation, Lin-ay sang Hablon and Hablon Fashion Show among others.
The week-long celebration is scheduled on September 16 to 22, 2022 bannering the theme “Miagao Hablon: Palanublion nga Dapat Ipadayon sa Pagbangon”.
