UPDATES I Miagao gets 3M capitalization for farmer coops and associations

Officials from the Agribusiness and Marketing Divisionm (AMAD) of the Department of Agriculture here brought good news to the Miagaowanons through Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr.
In their courtesy visit to Mayor Garin, AMAD staff headed by Ms. Ma Teresa Solis said that Miagao was identified as one of the recipients of the Enhanced KADIWA ni Ani at Kita Financial Assistance Grant Program amounting to P3-million.
The assistance aims to capacitate the farmers and fisher folks cooperatives and associations to become reliable and efficient food commodity suppliers through the operation and management of KADIWA market and stores.

UPDATES I Mayor RSG meets COA Audit Team

Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr shared some light moments with COA Audit Team leader Atty. Ro Ann Marie H. Gumban – Marcelino and Ms, Hazel B. Fuentes during their courtesy visit earlier today. Atty. Marcelino and her team will be assigned in Miagao to look into the accounts and expenditures of the funds and properties of the municipal local government.

Some 664 job seekers, mostly Miagaowanons, came to try their luck in a one-day job fair facilitated by PESO – Miagao.
According to PESO Manager John Nocal, of the 664 applicants, 30 were hired on the spot while 255 were nearly hired. He said that, total of 2,181 vacancies were made available from 29 companies during the event.
“This was in response to the request of Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr to extend their job opportunities to Miagaowanons,” Mr. Nocal said.
Earlier on, PESO – Miagao released pre-registration forms and facilitated online registration to would-be applicants prior September 13th. As of press time, some 300 Miagaowanons joined in the fair.
This job fair was witnessed by DOLE Iloilo representative Ms. Melissa Navarra.

Mayor RSG to PESO Managers: ‘Empower people to be self-reliant’

In this time of economic crisis and with the looming decrease in the 2023 Budget of all local government units, Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr said that while it is okay to give job opportunities, it is also important to ‘empower our people to be self-reliant’.
“Finding a job, finding a business less than the minimum requirement is again another problem. Do you want to help your Mayor, your officials? Ddo this, helping yourself is helping the government. Ang himuon naton tulad, let us empower our people, empower them to be self-reliant,” said Mayor Garin said in his message to the members of the PESO Managers Association of the Philippines – Iloilo during their 2nd Quarterly Meeting in Miagao.
Mayor Garin was also glad that they have chosen Miagao as venue for this occasion. For him it was an opportunity to “renew acquaintances and commitment’.

‘Aspire to make a difference’

Mayor Oscar “Richard” Garin , Jr joined on Friday the members of the OFW Family Circle as his gesture of appreciation and support to what was referred to as “modern day heroes”.
In his message, Mayor Garin said that the local government acknowledged their sacrifices as one of the main drivers behind the ‘economic growth’ of their family and country. He even told them to aspire to make a difference.
“Do not only aspire for a living, do not only aspire sa career mo, aspire to make a difference sa imo pamilya, sa imo kasimaryo sa imo neighbor to make a difference nga mag mayad pangabuhi nanda Because we only live once s aka dya nga kalibutan,” he said as he also expressed his full support to the group.

Mayor RSG calls for unity Thanks Bliss residents for their support

Mayor Oscar “Richard” S. Garin Jr called on for unity among the officers and members of Camp Monteclaro Bagong Lipunan Committee Association (BLISS) during their oath-taking ceremony today.
“You can never attain success without unified effort. Importante ang pag-irimaway naton, persistence and determination for a better Miagao,” said Mayor Garin as he made them even happy when he revealed to them his huge plans for Miagao.
“Nagbalik guid ako kaninyo kay gin-ugyunan man ninyo ako sa akon causa. Apisar sang sugilanon (fake news), salamat guid sa inyo suporta, salamat guid sa inyo pagsarig, salamat guid sa inyo pagpalangga,” Mayor Garin concluded.
