The strong tandem of Congresswoman Janette L. Garin and Mayor Richard S. Garin was felt today as they led the distribution of assistance to the Miagaowanons who were affected by Typhoon Paeng.
The couple started their day in Miagao with a quick visit and assessment at the Oyungan Bridge and the distribution of food packs in the barangays. They were joined by DSWD Regional Director Atty. Carmelo Nochete, Vice Governor Tingting Garin, BM Val Serag, incoming BM Joan Germinanda and select municipal elected officials.

In response to the urgent request of Mayor Richard Garin to find immediate solution to the situation of Oyungan Bridge, the DPWH is now starting the construction of the Bailey Bridge, a temporary bridge that can carry 5 to 10 tons of trucks or light vehicles.
The construction will take them 2-weeks, so the public is advised to bear with the inconvenience. Rest assured that the local government is working on top of the situation.

Mayor Richard Garin sent the personnel from the Office of the Mayor and MSWDO to assist the personnel of the DSWD Region VI in the distribution of the relief goods to the affected families brought about by the onslaught of Typhoon Paeng.
It has been the instruction of Mayor Garin to deliver it straight to the affected families. As of this writing, MSWDO recorded 336 affected families.

The Barangay Health Workers gathered today for their annual general assembly at the Regional Evacuation Center in Barangay Kirayan Tacas, this Municipality. They also elected their new set of officers.
BHW serves as frontliner in the barangay in providing basic health services. They play a vital role in accomplishing the primary health care approach, next to the Municipal Health Office towards health empowerment by providing accessible and acceptable health services in the barangay level.
