On time for the celebration of the 9th Charter Anniversary of Iloilo Science and Technology University on May 15, 2024, Mayor Richard Garin announced the groundbreaking of a state-of-the-art educational facility, generously funded by Congresswoman Dr. Janette L. Garin.
This significant contribution underscores Dr. Garin’s unwavering commitment to advancing educational infrastructure and fostering academic excellence within the region.
The new building, equipped with contemporary amenities and designed to facilitate a conducive learning environment, stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing the educational landscape. This Miagaowanon athlete, Chrispherl Kyle Ngirngir, a Grade VI pupil of Kirayan Elementary School, who represented Iloilo in the recently concluded Western Visayas Regional Athletics Association Meet in Bacolod City, emerged victorious and will advance to Palarong Pambansa.

Mayor Richard Garin, through its Local Youth Development Officer Renand John Fermindoza extended his support to the Miagaowanon athletes who participated and represented the First Congressional District Sports Association in various events at the Integrated Meet.

In line with the celebration of the Fire Prevention Month, the personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, in tandem with the Bureau of Fire Protection here, conducted a series of activities on preparedness.
Today, the group was in Ticdalan Elementary School where they conducted a fire drill, emergency preparedness, emergency response, and orientation on basic first aid.
