DRUG-FREE MUNICIPALITY

Mayor Richard Garin proudly accepted the designation of Drug-Free Municipality of Miagao for 2024, celebrating the successful retention status of three barangays: Kirayan Tacas, Narat-an, and Kirayan Sur.
This honor is a reflection of the relentless dedication and collaborative efforts of our barangay and municipal officials, stakeholders, and law enforcement agencies. It serves as a powerful testament to their commitment to fostering a safe and healthy community in Miagao.
The recognition was formally presented by Ive Marie Himpit from the PDEA Regional Office 6 on October 14, 2024, underscoring the collective achievements in combating drug-related issues of the municipality.

The Municipal Health Office, under the leadership of Dr. Rhea Palacios, conducted the simultaneous Dengue Advocacy campaign targeting public elementary and high schools during Brigada Eskwela 2024.

This initiative aimed to raise awareness about dengue prevention, engaging students and educators alike in crucial discussions.

Through informative sessions and vibrant presentations, the team emphasized the importance of cleanliness, mosquito control, and early detection to safeguard community health.
The collaboration fostered a sense of responsibility among the parents, teachers and pupils and empowering them to take active roles in protecting themselves and their families from this widespread illness.
