DSWD LAUNCHES WALANG GUTOM PROGRAM IN MIAGAO

On February 19, 2025, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launched its Walang Gutom Program in Miagao, benefiting 192 Miagaowanons.
Led by DSWD Assistant Regional Director for Operations Katherine Joy M. Lamprea, the distribution of benefits marks the beginning of crucial support for the beneficiaries. Each participant will receive food credit assistance of P3,000 per month through an Electronic Benefit Transfer card, which can be used to purchase a designated list of food items from participating retail stores.
The Municipality of Miagao is honored to be part of the Walang Gutom Program offered by the DSWD Field Office VI. This initiative is designed to combat hunger and reduce poverty by addressing the needs of low-income families through food credit assistance.
In his remarks, Mayor Richard Garin expressed gratitude to the DSWD for implementing impactful programs for the residents of Miagao. He also emphasized the collaborative efforts of government officials that facilitated the implementation of such valuable initiatives.

BARANGAY VISIT TO BARANGAY SAG-ON

Mayor Richard Garin spearheaded the Responsableng Gobyerno initiative aimed at bolstering local barangays.
On February 6, 2025, the team visited Barangay Sag-on to present a check designated for the improvement of Multi-purpose Building.
During the visit, Mayor Garin expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the community for their unwavering support of his administration.
He underscored the significance of their collaboration by promoting the slogan, “Miagao Palangga Ta, Progreso Padayunon Pa,” which emphasizes the commitment to ongoing progress in the region.

BARANGAY VISIT, BARANGAY NACLUB

On February 6, 2025, Mayor Richard Garin and the Responsableng Gobyerno Team visited Barangay Naclub to provide financial support for the construction of Barangay Footwalk.
In addition to this initiative, the team distributed the share of Real Property Tax to the barangay, underscoring their commitment to transparency and community engagement. This effort not only fosters public participation in governance but also promotes accountability among local officials.
Mayor Garin also championed the slogan, “Miagao Palangga Ta, Progreso Padayunon Pa,” which reflects a vision of continuous progress and development for the community.
