Mayor Richard Garin expressed his love and support to the members of the DepEd community through his presence during the opening of the 2024 Municipal Sports and Cultural Meet at the Miagao Central Elementary School Oval on January 15, 2024.
In his message, Mayor Garin. Talked about sportsmanship and the local government’s support to the endeavors of the schools.
“ You are considered a sportsman if you know how to respect the rules of the game, officials, opponent and even the audience. We want you to develop physically, mentally and emotionally,” he told the athletes.
Mayor Garin also revealed that the municipal government has allocated some P100,000.00 for the municipal meet.
The Meet was scheduled on January 15-16, 2024, for the sports events and January 18-19, 2024, for the Garin’s Cup cultural competitions.

The Department of Education RO VI recognized the effort of the local government of Miagao for its “unwavering support and outstanding contribution through impactful programs and projects, which were instrumental in uplifting the standard of education within the School Division of Iloilo Province.”
The Certificate of Recognition was personally turned over to Mayor Richard Garin by Miagao East District Supervisor Dr. Emmanuel Paguntalan on January 11, 2024.
It may be noted that support for education is one of the major agenda of the present administration.

“Mas mangin madali ang inyo pangabuhi kag mas madali ang pagpakadto balik kang mga tawo halin sa Igbaras kag Miagao.”
This was the statement of Mayor Richard Garin during the pre-construction conference for the opening of the road from Barangay Tiglawa, Miagao to Barangay Buenavista, Igbaras.
According to Mayor Garin, these are among the projects that can directly be felt by the people.
In his message, Tiglawa punong barangay Jose Nacita said that the project seems “impossible” but was realized under the administration of Mayor Garin.
“Daw indi dya mapatihan ga hambal ang iban nga indi dya malab-ot. Pero, sa pagpatigayon ni Mayor Richard Garin nangin posible dya para sa mga pumuluyo indi lng kang taga Barangay Tiglawa kag Buenavista, Igbaras kundi kang iban pa guid nga mga kabarangayan,” PB Nacita said.
Then pre-construction conference that is being conducted directly with the people is one of the initiatives of the Garin administration. It aimed at safeguarding the interest of the people, especially of those who will be directly affected by the project.
