MIAGAOWANON CANDIDATES PLEDGE TO MAINTAIN ELECTION INTEGRITY

Miagaowanon candidates for various local positions have pledged to “elevate the maturity of the Filipino electorate” during the Unity Walk and Covenant Signing held on February 28, 2025.
The event, sponsored by the Commission on Elections in collaboration with agencies such as the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army, aims to ensure peaceful midterm elections on May 12.
In the oath they signed, the candidates committed to “uphold the integrity of the election process by refusing to engage in vote-buying, election violence, or any form of corruption.”
Moreover, they promised to “raise the level of maturity of the Filipino electorate by conducting campaigns focused on issues rather than personal attacks.”

MIAGAOWANON ELDERLY RESIDENTS RECEIVE CASH GIFTS

Seven elderly residents of Miagaowanon were recipients of cash assistance from the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) during the inaugural Cash Gift Distribution under the Expanded Centenarian Act, held on February 26, 2025, at the JRBB Hall.
Each individual received ₱10,000. Under this new legislation, Filipino citizens aged 80, 85, 90, and 95 are eligible for the same amount, while centenarians continue to receive a benefit of ₱100,000. This initiative aims to provide financial support to the aging population and acknowledges their contributions to society.
