Mayor Richard Garin pledges support to the member of the New People’s Army (NPA) who voluntarily surrendered and returned to the arms of the government on April 22, 2024.
The NPA member, 24 years old, female, yielded to the 61st Infantry Hunter Battalion under LTC Arturo Balgos due to extreme hunger, hardships, and demoralization during her stay as a member of the NPA.
On top of the assistance from the government, Mayor Garin personally extended financial assistance.

Couple Congresswoman Janette L. Garin and Mayor Richard Garin personally ensure the smooth flow of transactions at the Bantay Kalusugan Health Caravan at the Regional Evacuation Center on April 22, 2024.
Now on its Day 2, the venue was packed with Miagaowanons who wished to avail of free medical and laboratory services.
The program, designed by the Office of Congresswoman Doc Nanay Janette Garin, aimed to ease the financial burden of Miagaowanons who were due for medical and laboratory check-up.
