Some 41 returning Miagaowanons qualified under the Balik Probinsya Bagong Pag asa Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development will receive P50,000.00 as assistance.

According to Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) Mrs. Rosalinda Mueda, the assistance extended to the beneficiaries will help them begin a new life in Miagao.

“The program aims to provide opportunities for families from urban areas who will commit to stay in Miagao. This is also our way of ensuring their safety and protection amidst this COVID19 pandemic,” said Mrs. Mueda.

In the long term, the program aims to also decongest the highly urbanized cities where they came from as the country combats its concern on COVID19.

Mayor Macario Napulan for his part welcomed the program and expressed his appreciation to the DSWD for having such program that could benefit the Miagaowanons.

The beneficiaries were earlier screened, assessed and evaluated by MSWD staff. Earlier today, the staff from the DSWD central and field offices came to conduct an orientation to the beneficiaries.

An additional 1,623 Miagaowanons were Vaccinated in the two-day roll out on November 9 and 10, 2021.

The turn out was reached through the doubling effort of the Municipal Health Office vaccination team headed by Dr. Rhea Palacios in tandem with the personnel from Provincial Health Office.

On November 9th, the MHO opened their vaccination to minors in a simple ceremonial pediatric vaccination program at the JRBB Hall.

Time and again, Mayor Macario Napulan asked for the cooperation of all Miagaowanons especially in getting the vaccines in order for Miagao to achieve herd immunity.
