In his dream of making Miagao a progressive town, Mayor Oscar โRichardโ S. Garin, Jr requested for all barangays to come up with their committees aligned with his priority agenda.
These committees are: Health and Sanitation, Social Welfare and Education, Peace and Order, Infrastructure, Agriculture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Environment and Disaster Preparedness.
These Committees will put up a counterpart fund of two percent to finance programs and projects along with that of the municipal government.
โIndi mo mahambal nga Miagao is a progressive municipality kun may isa ka barangay nga mabilin,โ Mayor Garin said in his message to the punong barangays and secretaries during the Barangay Development and Investment Planning Workshop at the JRBB Hall today.

In appreciation to the role of teachers, Mayor Oscar โRichardโ S. Garin, Jr took some time from his busy schedule to celebrate World Teachers Day to the teachers of Miagao National High School.
โThis day we celebrate World Teachers Day and you are all here to renew your friendship to all teachers and to renew your commitment to your profession to deliver quality education para sa mga kabataan kag para guid sa mga pumuluyo. You really deserve an applause,โ said Mayor Garin.
โOn behalf of Congresswoman Janette L. Garin, kag kang bata namon nga si Rica Jane nagapanginbulahan guid kami kaninyo kay kamo guid ang nagadara kag nagadihon kang mayad kag manami nga paraabuton kang banwa kag kang aton man nga community,โ he said.
Along with this, Mayor Garin also bared his aspirations for Miagao, particularly his priority programs and projects for the next three years. He also thanked them for their trust, support and cooperation to his administration.

โMasaku man ang tagsa kaninyo but gintaw-an niyo guid ka panahon ang occasion tulad. Salamat sa inyo participation because problems on these matter cannot just be solved by the Mayor alone but by the concerted effort of each of us as member of the community,โ said Mayor Garin.
The LCPC is the mandatory special body that advocates childโs rights that implements all childrenโs programs at the local level.

Phinma University of Iloilo spared 100 slots of Handog Kaibigan Scholarships to Miagaowanons. This was the good news brought by Ms. Sylvia Infante, Ms. Janine Diones and Ms. Churchille Pasague during their courtesy visit to Mayor Oscar โRichardโ S. Garin, Jr earlier today.
According to them, Handog Kabataan is a non-academic scholarship with a coverage of 25%, 50% or 75% financial assistance in tuition and miscellaneous fees, upon the screening of the studentโs financial status or capacity, from enrollment to graduation.
As such, Mayor Garin was given the leeway to endorse students or scholars whom he thinks deserve the scholarship. Thank you very much!
