Here is the progress of the Concreting of Road in Barangay Igpuro. This project is one of the two projects that underwent bidding under the current administration and were already issued the Notice to Proceed by Mayor Richard Garin.
The other project is the Oyaoy Hanging Bridge. More projects are lined up for 2023. Stay tuned!

The MDRRMO, through OIC MDRRMO Mr. John Nocal, received the non food items from Office of the Civil Defense in a formal turn-over ceremony held today at Fish Landing, Barangay Tan Parl, Tigbauan.
According to Mr. Nocal the NFIs will be for use by the MDRRMO personnel in cases of emergencies or calamities. Miagao was identified as among the recepients of the NFI as it was badly hit by STS Paeng recently.

MAYOR RSG TO PBs: Hire more BHWs, BNSs

MIAGAO, Iloilo – Mayor Richard Garin told all punong barangays to hire additional Barangay Health Workers (BHW) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) proportionate to the number of households in their barangays.
This was expressed by Mayor Garin during the gathering of all BHWs and BNS at their Appreciation Meeting with World Health Organization relative to its Healthy Hearts Projects.
The BHWs and BNS are the front liners that dispense basic health services in the barangay level.
With the hiring of additional BHWs and BNS, Mayor Garin said that Miagao will be able to in place an ideal ratio of one midwife to every 40 houses.

MAYOR RSG: HEALTHY HEARTS PROJECT TO CONTINUE AFTER WHO

MIAGAO, Iloilo – The Healthy Hearts Project will be continued even without the World Health Organization.
This was the commitment of Mayor Richard Garin to the WHO that piloted their Healthy Hearts Project in Miagao.
“We will continue the Healthy Hearts Projects because above all the project is beneficial to the Miagaowanons. Dya man ang inyo Mayor with the support of Congresswoman Janette L. Garin and DSWD Regional Director Carmelo Nochete. They will support us on initiatives like this for the Miagaowanons,” he said as he expressed his gratitude to the WHO for choosing Miagao as their pilot site.
The WHO will end its project implementation of the Health Hearts Project in December. It may be noted that Miagao is one of the pilot sites of the project.
To date it has 2,795 enrolled Miagaowanon patients who were direct beneficiaries of the hypertension initiatives of the WHO through the Rural Health Unit of Miagao.

MIAGAOWANON CENTENARIANS GET LONGEVITY CASH

MIAGAO, Iloilo – Four Miagaowanon centenarians received their P30,000.00 longevity cash incentives from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office through the Municipal SWDO and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs.
They are:
Lourdes Nedula – Barangay Tigmalapad
Esperanza Naringhon – Monreal, Barangay Fundacion
Ines Nufable – Bacawag – Barangay Maninila
Dolores Faicol – Barangay Tan-agan (not in photo)
The cash incentive awarded to them will be used to augment to their expenses in medicines and food.
