Department heads from the local government convened on December 11, 2024, for an intensive one-day review of the Gender and Development Plan and the accompanying Accomplishment Report.
RG SEAL REVEALS SCHOLARS ON TIME FOR MAYOR’S BIRTHDAY
The Responsableng Gobyerno Scholarship, Education, and Loans Program (SEAL) TWG has revealed its scholars and distributed their allowances in a distribution headed by Mayor Richard Garin at the ISAT U gymnasium on December 11, 2024 – the day of his birthday.
As such, a total of 1194 young Miagaowanons have a brighter future ahead with this program, which will provide them allowances until they finish their respective courses.
The scholarship varies from economic, academic, and senior high school, each receiving either P3,000, P5,000, or P3,000.
In his message, Mayor Garin highlighted that this forms part of achieving his goal of making Miagao an education center and elevating the economic status of every Miagaowanon family through education.

With the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU), Mayor Garin aspires to unearth exceptional talents and players who will represent Miagao at the forthcoming First Congressional District Sports Association Meet.
MIAGAO IS RED ORCHID HALL OF FAME AWARDEE
The Municipality of Miagao bagged the Red Orchid Hall of Fame Award during the 2024 Health Excellence and Leadership (HEAL) Awards at the Iloilo Convention Center on December 6, 2024.
The Red Orchid Award is an award system developed by the DOH to encourage the LGUs and other government agencies and hospitals to actively implement the 100% Tobacco-Free and other related policies.
Moreover, Miagao was recognized with the following:
-1st Place -Top Performing Local Government Unit in the Nutrition Program Implementation in the Province of Iloilo
-Dr. Rhea Palacios -Top Performing Municipal Nutrition Action Officer in the Province of Iloilo
-Ms. Ana Liza Muralla, Brgy. Bugtong Naulid -Top Performing Barangay Nutrition Scholar in the Province of Iloilo
-2nd Place -Top Performing LGU in the Integrated Helminth Control Program Implementation in the Province of Iloilo
-LGUs with invaluable contribution and outstandingsupport during the 2024 Galing Pook Awards Site Validation for the entry “Puso para sa Puso: Movement for the Healthy Hearts Towards MorProGRes Iloilo
-3rd Place -Top Performing LGU in the National immunization Program Implementatio in the Province of Iloilo
