A spectacle of recognition and gratitude under Department of Tourism Region VI, PAGDAYAW 2024, the event honored The Municipality of Miagao as a key tourism player for the invaluable contributions to the region’s tourism development, promotion, and regulation on 9 December 2024 at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel, Iloilo City.
At the PAGDAYAW 2024: Western Visayas Tourism Awards Night, The Municipality of Miagao along with the Santo Tomas de Villanueva Parish (Miagao Church) cemented its positions after it clinched the following Plaques of Appreciation:
-United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site, A Treasured Landmark
-Top Tourist Attractions/Sites in Western Visayas for 2023
-Top Contributing Municipality in Same-Day Visitor Arrivals in Western Visayas for 2023

The LGU Miagao under the administration of Hon. Engr. Oscar “Richard” S. Garin, Jr. thrust focuses on providing an enhanced tourism experience by investing in infrastructure and connectivity as well as contributing employment. The vision, tireless dedication, and the tangible impacts of Tourism Miagao initiatives have set a new benchmark in tourism leadership, not just in our Municipality but across Region VI.
