Following reports of severe flooding in Barangay Sapa due to heavy rain on the morning of November 1, 2024, Mayor Richard Garin swiftly ordered the release and distribution of food packs to approximately 137 affected families.
“Nagapaabot guid ang grupo kang Responsableng Gobyerno, sa pagpanguna ni Congresswoman Doc Nanay Janette Garin kang among simpatiya sa inyo kalisod,” he stated while overseeing the food pack distribution.
Mayor Garin further emphasized the urgency of the situation by directing the immediate declogging of the box culvert, which had contributed to the flooding in Barangay Sapa.
“Lantawon naton kun ano pa ang sarang naton mahimo. Rest assured nga kita sa Responsableng Gobyerno magapalab-ot guid kang aton serbisyo kaninyo,” he assured.
The distribution efforts were a collaborative initiative involving the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), and the Mayor’s Office.
