Miagao town targets P226M budget for 2020

MIAGAO, Iloilo – The local government unit (LGU) of Miagao is proposing a budget of P226,782,086.00 for the General Fund and Operation of the Economic Enterprises for Fiscal Year 2020.
Mayor Macario N. Napulan, with the collaborative efforts of all the department heads, is set to submit to the Office of the Sangguniang Bayan the FY 2020 budget by October 16, 2019.
The LGU focuses its resources to the attainment of the following 10-point Executive Agenda: 1) Good Governance and Transparency, 2) Agricultural and Fishery Development, 3) Tourism Promotion and Economic Development, 4) Infrastructure Development, 5) Health and Sanitation, 6) Educational Development, 7) Empowerment of Barangays, 8) Environment Management and Protection, 9) Maintenance of Peace and Order, and 10) Youth and Sports Development.
The LGU also aligned its Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) with the priorities of the national government to optimize the utilization of resources and avoid duplication in the use of fiscal and physical resources.
During the series of budget hearings conducted last August 15 to September 4, 2019, each department head presented their PPAs consistent with the Approved Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for FY 2020.
The fourth tranche compensation adjustment for the municipal government officials and employees as per DBM LBC No. 118 dated January 15, 2019 stipulated under E.O. No. 201 series of 2016 will be implemented.
The 119 barangays will be able to have their identified priority project funded through the Assistance to Barangays under the 20% Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA). (SMM/Information Office)
