On October 21, 2024, Mayor Richard Garin led the distribution of checks totaling 1.5 million to various organized associations in Miagao as financial assistance under the KADIWA program of the Department of Agriculture.
These associations are the NACTI Vegetable Noodles and Chips Processors Association, Miagao Rural Improvement Club, Miagao Bulb Onion Producers Association, Ongyod Coffee Association, Miagao Organic Black Rice Producers Association, and Sitio Guisian Farmers Association.
KADIWA is an initiative of the Department of Agriculture that is designed to ensure the availability and affordability of food in areas with high demand and in communities with low-income families. Farmers’ cooperatives and associations, members of the private sector, and other agricultural stakeholders were tapped to implement a direct and effective food supply distribution system throughout the country.
