Beneficiaries from the first batch of the Lawa at Binhi Program in Miagao have been selected to rehabilitate the existing water reservoirs they established.
On March 6, 2025, these individuals attended an orientation designed to ensure the project’s continuity. As an incentive for their participation, beneficiaries will receive food packs.
The Lawa at Binhi Program, implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), focuses on promoting water sufficiency. Key initiatives include constructing small farm reservoirs, repairing existing water harvesting facilities, diversifying water supply sources, and offering various supportive measures.
In addition to addressing water needs, the program also tackles food security through several interventions. These include communal vegetable gardening, community-based integrated diversified farming, vermicomposting, and a range of supportive activities aimed at enhancing local agricultural productivity.
