They are from the municipalities of Kalibo, Ibajay, Makato, and Tangalan in Aklan Province and San Enrique and Dueñas in Iloilo.
It may be noted that Miagao is the pilot municipality in the implementation of the Healthy Hearts Program.
According to MHO Dr. Rhea Palacios, the HHP was designed to improve cardiovascular health and reduce mortality caused by NCDs such as heart disease and chronic respiratory diseases. It includes capacitating the barangay health workers as well as educating the community to have a healthier lifestyle.
In Miagao, the Program focuses on blood pressure control, shifting to the national protocol and reaching the unreachable.
