The local government, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and in collaboration with the SB Committee on Women, chaired by Hon. Japhet Grace Moleta, has organized a series of events to honor the women in our community. This initiative involves partnerships with various local organizations, including the Women and Family Council, Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO), KALIPI, Solo Parents, OFW Family Circle, 4Ps Parent Leaders, and groups representing persons with disabilities (PWD).
On March 7, 2025, the day-long celebration commenced with a lecture focusing on Republic Act 9262. This law addresses topics such as the Barangay Protection Order, Temporary Protection Orders, and Permanent Protection Orders, all of which are essential for safeguarding the rights and welfare of women.
The session was led by Regional Director Atty. Jonnie Dabuco and Mr. Christopher Montano from the Commission on Human Rights, who provided valuable insights into these legal protections and their implications for our community.
Happy National Womenโs Month!
