The local government, under the leadership of Mayor Richard Garin, has acquired new garbage compactors to tackle the longstanding mismanagement of the dumpsite in Barangay Tuguraao.
This announcement was made by Forester Isidro Mosura, Officer-in-Charge of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), in response to recent concerns regarding garbage management at the local government unit (LGU) dumpsite.
Mosura indicated that the issue had persisted long before he took office in 2008. He emphasized that Mayor Garin has systematically addressed these challenges through the recent purchase of these compactors.
Furthermore, he noted that the local government is considering a partnership with LGU Passi to manage its waste disposal more effectively.
Meanwhile, MENRO maintains the strict implementation of its policies and programs on segregation, collection, and disposal of solid waste in town.
